Submit an assignment
Before uploading
- Use PDF, DOCX, TXT, HTML, or HTM.
- Confirm the file opens and contains the final version you intend to submit.
- Prefer selectable text. Image-only PDFs need OCR and may take longer.
- Follow the assignment's filename, size, and submission rules.
- Keep your own copy of the submitted file.
Submit through Moodle
- Open the Moodle course and select the assignment.
- Select Add submission or Edit submission.
- Add the file to File submissions.
- Select Save changes.
- If Moodle shows Submit assignment, use it when your work is final and confirm the submission.
The final button labels depend on the assignment workflow. ScholarScan may process saved drafts only when the lecturer has enabled draft processing. Otherwise, scanning starts after the submission reaches Moodle's submitted state.
After submission
ScholarScan places the file in a processing queue. Processing time depends on queue load, document length, format, and whether OCR is needed. You may continue using Moodle while it runs.
Do not repeatedly upload the same file just because the result is still pending. First wait for the queue and Moodle synchronization to finish.
Replacing a submission
If Moodle allows editing:
- Open the assignment.
- Select Edit submission.
- Remove or replace the old file.
- Save and submit again if required.
ScholarScan associates the report with the actual owner of the Moodle submission, including when a lecturer edits a student's submission.
Warning
A replacement may create a new report or require a lecturer recheck. Always verify that the latest filename and result are shown.
